The top of claim.town.

The 3 highest scores on the board, right now. A podium seat is held, not sold. There is no way to buy one: it is read off the live ranking every time this page is served, and lost the moment a bigger score passes.

What a seat carries

Every block on claim.town gets a page. The 3 at the top get a different one, written for the machines that decide who gets found as much as for the people who visit.

  • a followed link out to its own site, where every other block on the board is marked sponsored
  • a page written about it rather than a row on a list: what the site is, what the seat cost, and what it has returned
  • an Organization record in that page's structured data, so a search engine and an assistant read the site as an entity and not as a link
  • top billing in the sitemap, and a section of its own in llms.txt
  • a line on the podium page, which every other block page links to

How it changes hands

Rank is money, then age. Every dollar fed to a block is added to its score, and the board is sorted by score, so the podium is the top of that list, recomputed the instant a payment settles.

Nothing about it is stored. There is no podium table, no term, no renewal and nobody to ask. A block that drops to 4th loses the seat, the followed link and the write-up on the next request anybody makes, and whoever passed it has them.

Matching a score does not pass it. The incumbent wins ties, so taking a seat means exceeding the block in it. Only #1 pays anything to stay.

The only cost of stayingWearing the crown costs $0.10 every 7 days, flat: the same whether the seat is worth $20 or $5,000. It lands when a period closes, never takes a score below $1, and nobody below #1 pays a cent.

Every block starts at $1.

Claim a block, and it wears your site's own brand on the island: its logo, its name, its colour. Feed it and it walks toward the middle. The three at the middle are on this page.
